Gambling: We give evidence to Select Committee on gambling data
Yesterday our director, Anna Powell-Smith, gave evidence to MPs at the DCMS Select Committee, as part of their current inquiry into the National Lottery.
Anna answered MPs’ questions about data in the Lottery licence, and generally in gambling regulation.
Topics covered included:
why we need much better data on Lottery players, to understand potential harms like addictive or unaffordable gambling
the Lottery’s use of data-driven technologies, like personalised marketing and targeted advertising
the data-related skills, powers and rights that the Gambling Commission needs to regulate effectively
the future Gambling White Paper.

We also covered similar topics in our written evidence to the inquiry, which you can read here.
